Danny has a green thumb. As a matter of fact, I think he has 10 green thumbs. The kid touches things and they grow. It's quiet amazing to be honest. We have a garden in our back yard. I didn't allow him much room because I love my beautifully manicured and landscaped backyard and didn't want a crazy chunk of it growing in all directions causing an eyesore. So I gave him a little bit on the side of the house. That little bit is now producing: Green Beans, Asparagus, Strawberries, Potatos, Radishes, Beets, Peas, Tomatos, Watermelon, Cucumber, Red Onions, White Onions, Carrots and last but not least Zucchini. Not to mention a whole host of herbs he has in a barrell garden going.......It used to seem like alot of work for something you can easily buy at the store, but now with our whole 'reinvention of the Hewitt's' we've embarked on over the last month or so, I can't be more thankful for his desire and enjoyment from gardening. There is nothing like being able to pick your food of the plant and eat it right there. Knowing there are no hormones, pesticides etc on them. That you're putting Mother Natures work straight into your body. So on the request of Hope, I've taken a few photos to show what little room I gave him, and how much he's made from it.

Its wonderful dear. I cant believe he was able to fit that much in that space. Maybe if my crop is good we can trade some excess foods we grow. I know i often have to give stuff away when im just getting more than i can eat.
ReplyDeleteDanny's got good genes. I've seen his grandparents garden in old Rose Park. Some of the prettiest peppers I have ever seen.
