Danny has a green thumb. As a matter of fact, I think he has 10 green thumbs. The kid touches things and they grow. It's quiet amazing to be honest. We have a garden in our back yard. I didn't allow him much room because I love my beautifully manicured and landscaped backyard and didn't want a crazy chunk of it growing in all directions causing an eyesore. So I gave him a little bit on the side of the house. That little bit is now producing: Green Beans, Asparagus, Strawberries, Potatos, Radishes, Beets, Peas, Tomatos, Watermelon, Cucumber, Red Onions, White Onions, Carrots and last but not least Zucchini. Not to mention a whole host of herbs he has in a barrell garden going.......It used to seem like alot of work for something you can easily buy at the store, but now with our whole 'reinvention of the Hewitt's' we've embarked on over the last month or so, I can't be more thankful for his desire and enjoyment from gardening. There is nothing like being able to pick your food of the plant and eat it right there. Knowing there are no hormones, pesticides etc on them. That you're putting Mother Natures work straight into your body. So on the request of Hope, I've taken a few photos to show what little room I gave him, and how much he's made from it.

Oh and just because I feel bad for him, here is Tanks little ouch he got the other day. 30 seconds after impact, he was done crying and off to play.....

Briper, Foders and other such things....

I think it's funny how as grown, mature, intelligent adults, we resort to mimic-ing (Ok, I know that isn't how you spell it) our children. Will loves Diapers. He loves playing with them, pointing at them and even trying to put them on. He calls the Bripers. And now, I call them Bripers. When Alice had a pacificer (or binky to most of the civilized world) she called it Foder. As such, I called it Foder.
Anyways. Nothing real intriguing in this blog. Just cute words. Briper..Foder... :)

Good Intentions.

Like my life, this blog is full of good intentions. I intend to blog as regularly as a woman who works 50+ hours a week, who has two children and a doting family can. I intend to speak my mind to those who wish to hear. I intend to spur thoughtful conversation and avoid intimidation or my natural ability to cast judgment so easily upon others. I intend to let those whom I love and care about know that I am thinking about them on a regular basis and am wishing them well. And as my life, I sometimes fall short of these 'good intentions', but each time I fall, I stand up, dust off my knees and intend again.
